It’s the ring to go with the throne of Westeros! Awesome!

That's a pretty cool thought :cool2:. Thanks for putting that in my head!

That's so cool that you picked up on the spinal anatomy!

Here's the story of the ring's origin:

“This is Spinal Tap” (aka the #catacombs ring)

Rewind to November 2021. I was in a creative rut. All of my drawings sucked.

Then I threw out my back. That sucked too…but, like, in a different way

At least it gave me 5 days on the sofa to contemplate spinal anatomy and the relative violence of nerve pain.

On day 5, as I sat waiting for an MRI and filling out consent forms, my hand began trembling on the page….and then furiously scribbling on the back of the page.

Think Bruce Campbell in The Evil Dead 1981

I woke from my trance in a daze. Drooling slightly. Vision blurred….

As my eyes focused, I could make out rather vicious spinal nerves (prongs) emerging from a spinal column made of French-cut diamonds supporting a brilliant neural ganglion.

My minds eye could clearly visualize (despite the drool and graphite smeared across HIPAA forms) light refracting through the network of diamonds as if neurons electrified by thunderbolts of sensation.

“It’s Alive!”

…and of course the tiny Memento Mori lying privately below the visible hemisphere of the ring, known only to the wearer.

The message? We can find beauty and vivaciousness in all sensations including pain…and that we are mortal; not one single moment or sensation can be taken for granted.
